Time to step back into that summer body!

Summer is here and that means beach, sand, and fun! However keeping active in the summertime is harder because of this smoldering heat and it often becomes easier to become a couch potato instead of staying active. Trust us, we know how hard it is to stay active and that is why we have come up with a few fun tips that are both enjoyable and will get you out of the house this summer! Here they are!

1. Biking Over Driving 

Who says staying fit has to be boring? You can always make things fun by bringing your best friends along for the ride! Go biking at your nearest park, not only is this a way to stay fit, but you can also enjoy the view and the fresh summer air on your face! Some things are just meant for summer time and bicycling is definitely one of them!

2. Just Keep Swimming! 

Like our aquatic friend Dory would say “Just keep Swimming”! You are already at the beach most of the day, instead of laying in the sun, try going into the water and take some laps in the ocean! Nothing is a better form of exercise than swimming, it works all your hard to reach muscles and it’s a full body workout. Not to mention it’s fun! If you are one of those people who don’t know how to swim, that’s not a problem! Take swim classes this summer and practice what you’ve learned at your local pool club!

3. Take a Walk Through The City

There are always sights to see in every town or city you visit. Especially during the summer time, there are outdoor events and outdoor seating areas, so walk around your town and get to know it better or head on over to the city and spend the day doing tourist stuff. Maybe even squeeze in some shopping here and there!

4. Stay Hydrated! 

There are a million ways to exercise, but there is only one way to keep going; hydration! Lately a big talk on social media websites has been to drink fruit infused waters. Since fruits have health benefits and water is a necessity for life, why not try combining the two this summer! Cut up a fruit you like and just drop in some ice cubes and add some water! That’s all! Not only will this keep you refreshed, but it will add a little spruce to your drink! Some popular fruits are lemons, oranges, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and maybe you can even give grapefruits a try!

5. Watch TV and Workout

If heading outside to get a workout in is too much, we dont blame you! If it were up to us, we’d be making permanent craters on our couch while watching Netflix all day long. If you’re spending your hard-earned summer catching up on your favorite TV shows, there’s still a way for you to work those muscles. Set a series of criteria (like if a judge on a reality TV show exclaims “stunning!”) and perform an exercise everytime your favorite characters or hosts do these things. Who says you can’t watch television AND get fit? Check out some more fun ideas here.

There it is – Just a few helpful hints on how to stay active this summer! Keeping active is an essential part to everyday life, especially during the summer when you need to start rocking that beach bod! Remember to stay active this summer and not to become a couch potato!
