Our “GoEnnounce Yourself” Scholarship, sponsored by Upromise, awards one student $500 each month! This award goes to a student who’s doing a great job showcasing who he/she is, by sharing school related e-nnouncement updates with Followers on their GoEnnounce Student Page. Our “GoEnnounce Yourself” Scholarship recipient provided by Upromise for the month of December is… Christina Presmy!
Christina is quite an impressive 10th grade student at Island Coast High School. She is hardworking, goal-oriented and determined to do whatever it takes to achieve her dreams! As a 10th grade student she’s already very involved in extracurricular activities at her school such as, Key Club, Scholars Club, Student Government Association, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and a member of the JV cheerleading squad! She also states in her bio that she’s extremely passionate about volunteering and giving back to her community. This is evident by her 150+ volunteer hours, which she has received by donating her time to the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Cape Coral Hospital, and as an active church member.
During the month of December Christina really showed off her passion to volunteer and dedication to her academics on her Student Page. In early December Christina e-nnounced that she was selected to participate as a buddy to ESE students at her school for the Special Olympics. After volunteering she posted a photo with her group at the Special Olympics e-nnouncing how much she enjoyed it! She also showcased a certificate she received from dedicating time at the Lee Memorial Health System during the summer 2015 volunteer program, which she can’t wait to participate in again this summer. Aside from her volunteering and extracurricular activities, Christina always makes time for her academics! She recently began English 3 online as a sophomore to get ahead and start taking college courses earlier. Also, her math teacher sent out a message to all of her algebra students that not only did Christina score a 96 on her algebra 2 test, but she she received one of the highest test scores out her entire 8 periods! Way to go Christina!!
Christina’s future plans include graduating high school in 2018 with a GPA above a 4.0 and a lot of honors and achievements, studying law at a top Florida university, and then becoming a juvenile attorney. With the hard work and dedication Christina is already demonstrating at such a young age, we have no doubt she’ll reach these goal! Check out her Student Page here.
