Abroad101 Student of the Week #0127 – Camille Gibson

Congratulations to our 127th Abroad101 Student of the Week, Camille Gibson! Camille is a junior at the University of Memphis and is working on her pre-nursing degree. Not only does she play an active role in the Alpha Rho chapter of Sigma Phi Lambda, Camille is a regular volunteer with the Post-Secondary Awareness with Success, where she mentors local elementary students. In the future, Camille plans to receive her Master’s degree in Nursing and then continue on to work at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Camille is a motivated hard-working young girl who definitely has the passion for succeeding in her goals and dream.

Now, Camille has the chance to travel globally as she was accepted into the University of Memphis’ International Studies Abroad program. She was not only accepted but also has already received a $2,500.00 scholarship to study at Seoul University in South Korea. What an adventure! Seoul University offers Korean language and culture classes as well as amazing medical science courses. This prestigious program will allow Camille to develop a new perspective on American society as she is very interested in the makings of a foreign culture.

We are very excited to announce that Abroad101 is donating to Camille’s mission. However, Camille is still $4,850.00 away from her goal. With only two months left, she is asking for donations in order to pay for the remaining costs of her trip to South Korea. Your donation will directly go towards Camille’s airfare ($2,000.00), city transportation ($500.00), spending money ($600.00), and emergency funds ($300.00). Camille is also actively working towards her goal as well by working a part-time summer job to cover some costs. Please promote and help send Camille to her dream study abroad program in South Korea!
