Abroad101 Student of the Week #0126 – Audrey Alvarado

Congratulations to this week’s Abroad101 winner, Audrey Alvarado! Audrey is currently attending George Fox University in Oregon and plans on attending the American University in Rome next semester. She has decided on Rome as her place of studying because of her interest in art and design, especially in the Eternal City. Rome is known for having some of the most amazing architecture and design in the entire world, and she believes that being able to experience these first hand and not just through a textbook will grow her love for art and design. She also has a passion for helping others and the program that she will be attending partners with a local ministry to help Refugees. She is ecstatic to have the opportunity to serve others across the globe, continue her faith, and education.

Audrey hopes to one day become a designer while still continuing her love for helping others within her community. By spending a semester abroad, she hopes to gain new insight into the world as a whole, continue to learn about faith, and gain knowledge about art.  The funds that she raises will be used to pay the program fees and her flight to Rome. Her goal is to raise $5,000 by the end of the summer in an effort to cover the left over expenses that she cannot pay for. She is spending the summer working and saving for this opportunity but she needs some help along the way!
