Congratulations to our 125th Abroad101 student of the week, Allyson Titus! She is currently a junior studying Photography with Business and Psychology at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. Allyson loves to be involved around campus, making sure that she gives back to those who are less fortunate. She is extremely dedicated to helping students within the community because she knows that children are the future and they deserve the best chance at success. In the future, she would love to be able to travel around the world and go to Graduate School to pursue her masters degree. She hopes to one day have the ability to start her own fundraising program to help students attend college and study abroad programs.
Allyson has been saving for the perfect study abroad program since she began attending Texas Woman’s University. She has always felt drawn towards programs that are centered around helping others and aren’t limited to taking classes. The program that she has decided to take part in is located in South Korea and focuses on providing child care to orphaned children. In South Korea often times infants are abandoned, left on the steps of Churches and Orphanages, but this program provides care for these infants. Allyson will show the infants that they are still deserving of affection; she will be taking care of these children by holding them, feeding them, and showering them with love. She is beyond excited for this opportunity and knows that her time studying abroad will be meaningful not only to her, but to the children she cares for in South Korea.
Allyson is only $3,000 away from finally reaching her fundraising goal! She has already raised $1,305 of the $3,000 and knows that she is so close to her dream becoming reality. The final $3,000 will be used to pay the rest of her ISA fees for her semester abroad. These fees will cover her healthcare while shes abroad, tuition, housing, and staff support. Please help us send Allyson to her dream study abroad program!
