Abroad101 Student of the Week #0085 – Jillian Desrosier

Screen Shot 2016-03-31 at 4.11.09 PMA huge congratulations goes out to our Abroad101 Student of the Week, Jillian Desrosier! Jillian is currently in her junior year at American University in Washington D.C. with a major in international relations. As every college student does, Jillian has spent her time at AU trying to find inspiration to determine the career path that would best suit her needs and interests following her graduation. After consulting with some friends about her post-graduation anxiety, she was referred to PhotogenX. Jillian’s extensive research about the program has convinced her that this is exactly the type of direction she’s been searching for, as it amalgamates her degree – international relations – and her faith – theology – with her passion – photography.

PhotogenX is a six month program provided through Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in which students receive intensive training in both Christian theology and photography. Jillian will spend the first three months in training at YWAM’s headquarters in Hawaii and the following three months traveling in a different country. During her training, Jillian will learn about Christian theology and photography and looks forward to broadening her education in faith and photography while also growing in humility and respect. At the end of her six months, Jillian will have created her own international photography portfolio for her future career in design. In order to pursue her goals and discover the particulars of her personal identity, Jillian needs help funding food, living arrangements, travel, and tuition for the Discipleship Training School. Jillian needs and would appreciate all the help she can get; to check out her Mission, donate to her cause, and help jump start her exciting and life-changing journey with PhotogenX, click here!
