Abroad101 Student of the Week #0070-Kesedria Carter

Screen Shot 2015-12-09 at 2.12.48 PMOur 70th Abroad 101 Student of the Week scholarship goes to Kesedria Carter. Kesedria is a senior at University of Iowa, majoring in social work with a double minor in pyschology and human relations. Following her passion for social work, she will be studying in southern India for 3 weeks after winter break. In India, she will be working with a multitude of organizations to serve a population of disadvantaged people. Two of these include a school for children with physical and intellectual disabilities and an eye hospital. She will also be assisiting aging adults and strengthening women in rural villages. We’re sure Kesedria will greatly enjoy and learn from this experience! Check out Kesedria’s Mission here and help her become the first person in her family to travel outside the US.

The Abroad101 Student of the Week initiative awards a student who created a Mission for a study abroad program on GoEnnounce with a donation to their fundraiser. Learn more about this partnership from Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay and GoEnnounce co-founder Melissa Davis here.
