Abroad101 Student of the Week #0067 – Christina Vigil

Screen Shot 2015-11-13 at 2.53.03 PMA big congratulations to our Abroad101 Student of the Week, Christina Vigil! She is a junior at Colorado State University and is majoring in social work. She has a great passion for her major and realizes that in order to be a great social worker she has to be culturally aware and sensitive. Therefore she has been given a great opportunity to study abroad at the University of Victoria in New Zealand with AIFS. Wow what a great accomplishment and chance to be able to study abroad for Christina, her dreams are truly on their way to becoming a reality.

This program with AIFS will allow Christina to travel to New Zealand to study subjects from history to economics, all while being submersed in the culture and it’s people.  She will be in the heart of it all, as this university is located in the capital, Wellington, which has the feel of a big city but the charm of a town. The cost of the program covers everything from tuition, housing, meals, airfare and activities while she’ll be overseas. Christina really strives to be the best person she can be for her future career and gaining this awareness and education of other cultures will be an invaluable asset to her in the upcoming years. Help support this junior looking to make an impact one person at a time and check out her Mission here.

The Abroad101 Student of the Week initiative awards a student who created a Mission for a study abroad program on GoEnnounce with a donation to their fundraiser. Learn more about this partnership from Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay and GoEnnounce co-founder Melissa Davis here.
