This week’s Abroad101 Student of the Week award goes to D’Onna Cameron, a sophomore at Saginaw Valley State University who is majoring in accounting! At SVSU she is part of the program board, a student led organization that focuses on throwing events for the student body throughout the year (how fun!). She is also an active member of another organization called Brigade. The mission of this group is to encourage students at SVSU to complete their Map-Work Surveys. These surveys help the university follow the progress of a student and make sure they are on track with their academics. D’Onna has really enjoyed being involved on campus and plans to join even more organizations next year!
D’Onna recently was accepted to study abroad in Reggio Emillia, Italy with University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC). Not only was she accepted for this awesome opportunity but also awarded a $1,000 scholarship from SVSU! With future plans to one day be an accountant in Europe, D’Onna believes that spending a semester abroad will definitely help her get there (and we do too!). To learn more about D’Onna and her Italian adventure visit her Mission here.
The Abroad101 Student of the Week initiative awards a student who created a Mission for a study abroad program on GoEnnounce with a donation to their fundraiser. Learn more about this partnership from Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay and GoEnnounce co-founder Melissa Davis here.
Stay tuned for our next Abroad101 Student of the Week!
