This weeks Abroad101 Student of the Week is sophomore from Texas Tech University, Mackenzie Rice. Mackenzie is currently working her way towards a degree in energy commerce with a minor in finance. You can tell she definitely takes her academics seriously as the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship and 16 other awards! Not only is she an academic superstar but she also is an active member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and is currently working in the library as a student assistant.

Since Mackenzie has a passion for energy and the environment she is hoping to study abroad in South America, one of the most important players in the oil and gas industry.  She plans to go to Lima, Peru with our friends at International Studies Abroad (ISA), to study international trade policies and perfect her spanish speaking skills. This experience is not only perfect for Mackenzie’s area of study, it will also add an invaluable addition to her resume! Not to mention the fact that she can’t wait to explore this beautiful country. Learn more about Mackenzie and her awesome fundraising Mission here

The Abroad101 Student of the Week initiative awards a student who created a Mission for a study abroad program on GoEnnounce with a donation to their fundraiser. Learn more about this partnership from Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay and GoEnnounce co-founder Melissa Davis here.

Stay tuned for our next Abroad101 Student of the Week!
