Our Abroad101 Student of the Week for this week is junior at William Amos Hough High School, Valentina Ciuffreda. Valentina loves to learn new languages, which is very evident given that her favorite subjects are AP French and AP European History. She has even taught herself to speak Russian! When she’s not buried in the books, you can find Valentina enjoying her passion for ballet or music. Also, in her spare time she runs her own baking business, selling homemade baked goods to her friends and family! Valentina’s future plans include attending a college or university and eventually becoming a diplomat or Foreign Service Officer.
It has been Valentina’s dream to live and work in Europe. To make this dream a reality she is looking to study abroad in Belgium during her senior year in high school. With her current background in languages, including French, she feels she is ready to take on the challenge of studying abroad. This trip will not only help prepare Valentina for her future but will also give her an opportunity to check out other cultures. You can check out Valentina’s fundraising Mission here!
The Abroad101 Student of the Week initiative awards a student who created a Mission for a study abroad program on GoEnnounce with a donation to their fundraiser. Learn more about this partnership from Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay and GoEnnounce co-founder Melissa Davis here.
Stay tuned for our next Abroad101 Student of the Week!
