Abroad101 Student of the Week #0006 – Sierra Downey

Our next Abroad101 Student of the Week honor goes to writer, photographer and travel-enthusiast Sierra Downey, a History major at California State University, Fresno. In the spring, she will study abroad in Italy at the Università degli Studi della Tuscia, immersing herself in Italian culture while strengthening her interests through the University Studies Abroad Consortium’s (USAC) unique curriculum of history, journalism and art.

“I hope to unite my love for exploration with my interest in cultures and my skills in media and research to enter the global stage of international ambassadorship, business or NGO representation,” Sierra writes on her GoEnnounce Student Page.

During the semester, Sierra will reside in the picturesque town of Viterbo nestled in central Italy where she will meet and mingle with fellow journeyers from around the world. You can learn more about Sierra and contribute to her fundraising Mission here. Congrats, Sierra!

The Abroad101 Student of the Week initiative awards a student who created a Mission for a study abroad program on GoEnnounce with a donation to their fundraiser. Learn more about this partnership from Abroad101 CEO Mark Shay and GoEnnounce co-founder Melissa Davis here.

Stay tuned for our next Abroad101 Student of the Week!

Happy “ennouncing”!
