5 Tips to Make Your Senior Year Less Stressful

Here it comes! Almost time for graduation, prom, and the end of high school and you just can’t wait! Or can you? With the end of high school comes the end of a chapter in your life and you should treasure it because you won’t get another time like it. This is the last few times you may get to hang out with your high school friends before you all go your separate ways, and dealing with that may get stressful at times. Here are a few ways to deal with the stress of senior year:

1. Enjoy the time you have hanging out with friends.

Hanging out with your friends is the best stress reliever there is. Friends are able to take your mind off of things that are bugging you and get you to relax and have a little fun. Go to movies and have study sessions together (rather than alone) and just enjoy the time you have with them.

2. Take a Break – Go to an amusement park.

You deserve it! You’ve been working hard all year round and now that you can finally catch a break, grab a few friends and take the weekend to go to an amusement park! Making memories can make you be a little nostalgic, but when you are at an amusement park it gets kind of difficult to focus on nostalgia! If amusement parks don’t do it for you, go to a water park! Enjoy the spring and summer weather and with good company all hints of stress can be eliminated.

3. Take some time out of your days to do something you love to do.

Taking 10 or 15 minutes out of your busy day to do take part in something you love can also help relieve stress. For example, if you have a hobby that you don’t get to do much anymore because of your hectic schedule, here is your opportunity to start doing it again! Whether it be exercising, shopping, playing basketball, or drawing take some time out of your day to do it and you will find yourself a little more relaxed as the days go by.

4. Exercise exercise exercise!

By exercising daily your body is able to produce endorphins which act as a trigger to positive feelings in your body. So if you start your day by going for a run or taking a walk in the park you are more likely to feel happier and more energetic than if you hadn’t. In addition, exercise also helps you sleep better and it increases your energy levels! So not only are you going to be fit, you will be happy and stress free! Talk about getting 3 things for the price of one!

5. Nothing can be done well without a good night’s sleep.

We know that sleep is very rare term for high school seniors, but to live a stress free life it is important to get a good night’s rest. Sleep will not only help your body function 10 times better but it will also help you make clear choices and decisions and as a result reduce stress levels in your body.

Even though it is almost time for high school to be over, that time hasn’t come yet! It is important for you to take a beat and relax for a little while because built up stress isn’t good for your body and for your mind. Taking a break to hang out and kick back with some friends and doing things you like to do will not only help relieve your stress, but it will also help you enjoy life.
