After a cold and brutal winter for those of us on the east coast, we are finally starting to smell those May flowers, it’s about time! Now that the weather has decided to get warmer we know that you cannot wait to start doing some outdoor activities! Here are a few ideas to get you all started!
1. Have a picnic in your local park!
For those of us New Yorkers, Central Park is a great place to have a picnic with a few close friends. Did you know that it is 2.5 miles long? There is plenty of room to play some outdoor Frisbee or maybe even a game of kickball! Going out to have a picnic is one of the things everyone should try out this spring!
2. Start biking to places!
The weather has finally cleared and it is a nice time to park your car in the garage and dust off the old bicycle! It is not only fun to ride a bike, but this can also be your daily exercise. Talk knocking off two birds with one stone! Nothing is better than that warm spring breeze while you’re on your way to meet some friends, maybe you can convince them to bike with you too!
3. Spring cleaning!
No one likes cleaning, but when spring time comes, so does the spring cleaning alarm clock! Clean out your closet and get rid of clothes that you no longer use. A great motivation for you to get cleaning is to give as much as you can back to the Salvation Army or a local homeless center for people who really need it! This way you will have more room in your closet for all your spring attire and you’re giving back all at the same time!
4. Go hiking or rock climbing!
Now that the weather is nicer, not only do we come out of our hibernation, but nature does too! Plants and trees start blooming again, which make a great view from the top of a mountain! Take a trip one weekend and go hiking on a trail! Make it your goal to get to the top, so that you can see the beautiful view. If you’re not into nature and hiking, you can still have the same experience rock climbing at your local rock climbing center! It’s a nice way to get to the top and still see things from a different perspective!
Hopefully you got some motivation from these ideas to get out and do something this spring! Let’s make it a pact to enjoy the weather while we can, so we can look forward to it when the cold breeze of winter comes back around.
