Our “GoEnnounce Yourself” Scholarship awards one student $500 each month! This award goes to a student who’s doing a great job showcasing who he/she is by sharing school related ‘ennouncement’ updates with Followers on his/her GoEnnounce Student Page. We’re thrilled to “ennounce” April’s winner…the all around amazing student (and runner up from last month), Cayla Bleoaja!
As a sophomore in Oregon Virtual Academy, Cayla is a winner. She has won first place in a K12 International Academy essay writing contest in 2013, five OMTA Classical Festivals, and multiple Talent Shows for Gospel singing! Educationally she ranked number 1 out of 142 9th grade students based on grades and credits. Her general extra curricular activities include playing the piano, performing and song writing. Based on these extracurricular activities, it is easy to tell that Cayla is passionate about music and it is not something she plans to grow out of.
Cayla says that “Music is my passion, the element of my life that empowers, influences, and inspires me.” Music is the motivation behind everything she does, from it she learned how to stay persistent, motivated, and she has developed a certain discipline. She has learned to perform in front of large crowds and she plans to take these skills with her to Berklee College of Music in Boston and Valencia, Spain to earn her Master’s degree in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games and in Contemporary Performance. If these aren’t big dreams, who knows what is!
Recently, Cayla has been selected to be one of K12’s interns for the National Community and Family Support Team! She will be working with children in grades from K through 5, delivering 1 hour sessions to them! Way to go Cayla!
Cayla is an amazing, passionate, and hard working student who doesn’t wait for things to come to her. She goes to get it, and it seems like she is doing a great job at it! We’re rooting for you Cayla!
