Our “GoEnnounce Yourself” Scholarship awards one student $500 each month! This award goes to a student who’s doing a great job showcasing who he/she is by sharing school related e-nnouncement updates with Followers on their GoEnnounce Student Page. A huge congrats to Sophia Wang, our scholarship winner for the month of May!
Sophia is a currently a 10th grader at Williamsville North High School, with a passion for computer science and engineering. In addition to her academic success, she has many honors that represent her ambitious nature as a student, as a RISE Global Technology Conference attendee, Collision Technology Conference attendee, and the Tech Savvy Conference SAT Award Winner this year. She has been rewarded with the GGE Summer School Scholarship, and was the NYSTSA High School Student of the Year. She remains a fulfilled student with several extracurriculars, including varsity swimming and varsity track and field. She is also involved in the Technology Student Association (TSA), Science Olympiad, Student Council, Inter-high Council, Stock Market Investment Club, and Biology Honor Society. After she graduates high school, Sophia hopes to continue her studies in engineering and computer sciences in college. Her dream for the future is to become a software engineer and/or a CEO.
Throughout the month of May, Sophia has updated her GoEnnounce followers on her Student Page with academic accomplishments and progress in her extracurriculars. Recently, she was selected as her school’s student council executive board, and completed many scholarly projects, such as a research project on the different women in the field computer science and how their contributions have affected the overall course of CSS. The project was accepted by CS4HS Showcase and Competition project at Buffalo State College! She has many passions outside of school, and is especially involved in performing in her school’s renowned orchestra concerts. She recently announce that she received a PSAT score of 1510/1520, which qualifies for the National Merit Scholarship. This month, she has worked hard to complete several AP exams, ranging from subjects like World History to computer science. On her AP biology exam, she e-nnounced that she received a 68/70. Way to go, Sophia!

We know you’ll continue to excel academically and wish you the best of luck with all your extracurriculars! You seem to be a natural leader, and we have no doubt that you will succeed in the field of software engineering one day!
