Abroad 101 Student of the Week #0107 – Jordan Fortune

go-to-china

A HUGE congratulations to Jordan Fortune, our 107th Abroad101 Student of the Week winner! Jordan is currently a junior at Winthrop University and is majoring in integrated marketing communications. She is a very creative student that is passionate about photography and writing. Jordan is originally from Ohio but she has been living in South Carolina for 5 and a half years. She is a hard worker and if something needs to be done, she will be the first one to make sure that’s it’s completed. In the short term, her future plan includes receiving her masters degree because she strongly believes that education is crucial to be successful in what she does in her life. She isn’t exactly sure what’s in store fore her future career path but knows that she would like to enter the fields of public relations, event planning, or advertising.

Jordan will be studying abroad in China from the 11th to the 24th of May 2017 and she is more than excited about this unique experience. Thanks to this study abroad trip, not only will she be able to earn 3 credits towards her degree and 9 cultural credits but she will also have the chance to fulfill her global learning perspective, to network internationally and to build up her resume. During her trip, she will be visiting 5 major cities and she will visit famous and historical places such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and many more.

Jordan believes that by studying abroad she will learn and grow as a person. She hopes to be able to learn from people that are different from her and that it will be a great learning and educational opportunity.

Jordan cannot wait to go study abroad in China, to learn from others and get immersed in a new country and culture. However, traveling abroad can be expensive and that is why she started a fundraising Mission. She will use the donations in order to pay for her meals, passport, study abroad and baggage fees.

We wish Jordan all the best in China and hope that she will have a great and unforgettable experience there!
