Throughout high school, I was always on the look out for time management tips. That’s when I realized my style of planning is the most important aspect of time management. I can use any new method out there but it must resonate with me. Here are a couple of universal ways that I have found to help manage my time… Hopefully they work for you!
1. Spend less time on social media
It is easy to lose countless hours scrolling down on our newsfeed. Turn off your smartphone and log out for your various accounts. Make a conscious effort to spend less time merely checking how many likes your last post on Insta got!
2. Lists, lists, lists
Make lists of all the different things that you need to do. This will help you know what you need to do and get it done WAY faster!
3. Keep track of deadlines and due dates
Learn how fast you work. If you are able to figure out how exactly how long it takes to complete a certain task, you will be able to carve out just the right amount of time for future assignments!
4. Figure out your planning style
Figure out whether you like to plan out all the nitty gritty details or just jotting down deadlines will suffice. How well you manage your time depends on how comfortable you are with your time management style. Don’t feel the need to buy a planner if you aren’t going to use it!
5. Make time to relax
With all the things that there are to do as students it’s important to make sure you leave some time to relax and wind down. Take care of yourself, this will help you keep up the ebb and flow of life.
